El Salvador is leading the advances in educational innovation in the region. According to the Minister of Education, Mauricio Pineda, El Salvador is the Central American country that invests the most in reducing the digital divide in education. The Salvadoran Government has earmarked $600 million for this objective, which includes important strategies such as the provision of computers for students from fourth grade to high school, the distribution of tablets to children from first to third grade; as well as connectivity packages, and teacher training. The government prepares a new shipment of tablets for Salvadoran students

The President, Nayib Bukele confirmed on Thursday night through his official Twitter account the arrival of a new shipment of Lenovo tablets, which will be delivered to Salvadoran students in the public system.

The president pointed out that the tablets will be delivered to students from 1st to 3rd grade in the country’s public school system, emphasizing that students from 4th grade to high school are receiving laptops as part of the support for their school activities.

The Salvadoran government is executing the largest educational investment in the country’s history

The historic commitment to education is one of the priority actions for the government of President Nayib Bukele. Proof of this is that, for the first time in the country’s history, computers and tablets are being delivered to 100% of the students in the public education sector.

«We are giving Lenovo tablets to 100% of children in grades 1-3. And we are about to finish delivering laptops to 100% of students from fourth grade to high school. The Ministry of Education delivers computers to more than 2,000 special education students in the public sector

The interim Minister of Education, Mauricio Pineda, delivered on Monday, May 9, specialized personal computers for 2,440 students with disabilities, from fourth grade to high school, from the 30 special education schools in the country’s public education sector.
