UNDP and INCAF Strengthen El Salvador’s Vocational Training for the Jobs of the Future

El Salvador is strengthening its approach to workforce development through a new partnership between the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in El Salvador and the National Institute for Training and Productivity (INCAF), focused on preparing Salvadoran talent for the evolving demands of the labor market.

The initiative seeks to reinforce vocational training and expand access to skills aligned with emerging employment opportunities. By updating training programs, the partnership aims to help workers develop capabilities increasingly demanded by businesses and industries undergoing technological and economic transformation.

A particular focus will be placed on priority groups, supporting their participation in vocational education and improving their pathways into employment. This approach recognizes that access to relevant skills can play an important role in expanding economic opportunities and workforce inclusion.

The collaboration comes as labor markets continue to evolve, making technical, digital, and adaptable skills increasingly important for future employment. For El Salvador, strengthening vocational education represents an opportunity to connect talent development with the changing needs of its economy.

Through cooperation between UNDP and INCAF, the country is working to equip Salvadoran workers with the skills needed to navigate the jobs of the future and participate more effectively in a changing labor market.
