El Salvador Empowers Young Entrepreneurs with Free E-Learning.

This Friday, the National Commission for Micro and Small Enterprises (CONAMYPE) and the Social Fabric Reconstruction Directorate launched the Up Digital project and a new E-learning platform. The event took place at the CUBO center in the Zacamil neighborhood, aiming to provide young people with digital tools to strengthen their business ventures. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to foster economic growth within local communities through technology and education.

The project highlights a strong bond of international cooperation. Carlos Marroquín, Director of Social Fabric Reconstruction, emphasized the historical support received from Europe. I also want to thank the cooperation of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg because, for as long as I can remember, they have worked for the youth; their resources and funds are always focused on this, he stated. According to Marroquín, the main goal is to improve the quality of life for the families of those who visit the CUBO centers daily.

Paul Steiner, President of CONAMYPE, explained that Up Digital is specifically designed for young people with the energy and ideas to start their own businesses. Regarding the new virtual tools, Steiner noted: The other program we are making available is the Conamype virtual classroom, with more than 15 diplomas ranging from entrepreneurial culture and business models to financial education, accounting, and cybersecurity; all for free. This platform offers a comprehensive curriculum to professionalize small business owners.

Furthermore, Steiner highlighted that these virtual courses carry official weight, as they are certified by INCAF. This ensures that the training received by the participants meets the necessary standards to be recognized in the labor market. The program seeks to bridge the digital gap and provide formal recognition to the skills acquired by young Salvadorans in marginalized areas, turning their potential into sustainable enterprises.

The administration of President Nayib Bukele continues to promote real employment and entrepreneurship opportunities through these types of strategic alliances. By focusing on talent development and digital transformation, the government aims to create a more inclusive economy. These efforts at the Zacamil CUBO represent a step forward in the mission to provide the country’s youth with the resources they need to succeed in a globalized world.
