El Salvador has expanded its national digital health platform, DoctorSV, to include comprehensive mental health and nutrition services, marking another major step in the country’s ongoing transformation of public healthcare. The announcement was made through a social media statement by President Nayib Bukele.
According to the President, DoctorSV now integrates AI-assisted psychology, supported by licensed psychologists and offered without time limits. This new feature aims to provide accessible, confidential, and continuous mental health support for Salvadorans across the country.
President Bukele also confirmed the launch of the platform’s second phase, expanding eligibility to citizens between 31 and 40 years old. With this update, DoctorSV is now available to all Salvadorans ages 18 to 40, with full nationwide access for all age groups planned in the near future.
The digital platform offers a wide range of free healthcare services, including AI-assisted medical consultations, medication management, imaging services, laboratory tests, mental health programs, and more.
In addition, the government has introduced AI-assisted Nutrition Programs within the DoctorSV app. These services are guided by professional nutritionists and fully personalized to each patient, offering structured goals, progress tracking, and continuous adjustments to support long-term health improvements.
President Bukele highlighted that these advancements reflect the country’s broader vision: “We continue moving forward to build the best healthcare system in the world, God willing.”
The expansion of DoctorSV underscores El Salvador’s commitment to combining artificial intelligence, human specialists, and digital access to strengthen the national healthcare system and bring modern, high-quality services to the population.
