President Nayib Bukele invited Salvadorans on Sunday to visit and support the newly inaugurated San Miguelito market, which officially opened on Saturday, November 15. Through a social media message, the President highlighted the project as a major milestone in the country’s ongoing urban modernization.
According to President Bukele, the new facility is “the best market in Central America,” featuring more than 1,000 stalls designed to provide small entrepreneurs with dignified, clean, safe, and modern working spaces. The market represents a key investment in local commerce and community development, offering improved infrastructure for vendors and visitors alike.
The President emphasized that the market would remain open throughout the day and encouraged citizens to participate, noting that supporting local entrepreneurs also strengthens “order, cleanliness, responsibility, and the progress of our country.”
The San Miguelito market forms part of a broader national strategy to revitalize public spaces and boost small business growth. President Bukele signaled that this initiative is only the beginning, with additional markets planned across El Salvador.
This latest infrastructure project reinforces the administration’s focus on economic opportunity, urban renewal, and improved public services—priorities that continue to shape El Salvador’s long-term development strategy.
