The objective of incorporating these technologies is to improve the processes of appointment, reception, patient preparation, consultation, and prescription of tests and medications, streamlining the flow of patients when attending the office and optimizing their time.
The director of the Salvadoran Institute of Social Security (ISSS), Mónica Ayala, presented this Thursday afternoon the implementation of new technologies in the confirmation of appointments at the Zacamil Polyclinic Hospital, in the municipality of Mejicanos.
The objective of incorporating these technologies is to improve the processes of appointment, reception, patient preparation, consultation, and prescription of tests and medications, streamlining the flow of patients when attending the office and optimizing their time.
“We continue with the transformation of the Salvadoran Social Security Institute. It is a joy to continue working hard so that the changes can be seen because what we are doing is fighting for the social security that we all deserve and want to inherit”, said the director of the ISSS, Mónica Ayala.
The process is carried out in the following way: the patient confirms an appointment at an electronic kiosk with his DUI and receives a ticket with the data of the doctor, time, and specialty; then, she goes to preparation for taking vital signs and waits to be seen; consultation with your treating physician; receives tickets with the prescription for clinical exams, X-rays, medications, and next appointment; and goes to the pharmacy area to pick up the prescribed medications.
“This day is one more proof that this transformation of the health system continues. To be able to change that disastrous health system that we inherited and that we are now fighting to transform,” added the director of the ISSS.
The authorities affirmed that, before, the consultation process of a patient from his admission to the center implied at least two hours, at least. However, with this mechanism, the waiting time is reduced to an average of 45 minutes in the center.
