El Salvador is preparing to welcome the second edition of Bitcoin Histórico, a two-day event taking place November 11–12, 2026, across San Salvador’s Centro Histórico. Alongside its conference program, the event will once again connect Bitcoin culture with one of the country’s most recognizable culinary traditions: pupusas.
As part of the celebration, 21,000 pupusas will be offered free of charge at Plaza Gerardo Barrios, creating an open gathering point for Salvadorans, international visitors, families and members of the global Bitcoin community. The number itself carries symbolic significance within Bitcoin culture, referencing the cryptocurrency’s maximum supply of 21 million coins.
The initiative builds on the community-focused activities associated with the previous edition, when thousands of pupusas were distributed in the same historic setting.
Beyond the food celebration, Bitcoin Histórico 2026 will feature talks, workshops and activities at prominent landmarks including the National Palace, National Theater, BINAES and Plaza Gerardo Barrios. The official event site describes the gathering as an exploration of Bitcoin, financial freedom and El Salvador’s ongoing transformation.
By bringing an international Bitcoin audience together around a distinctly Salvadoran tradition, the event is set to place El Salvador’s culture, gastronomy and Centro Histórico at the center of a global technology-focused gathering.
