El Salvador and Argentina strengthened their economic and diplomatic ties with the signing of a new Agreement on the Promotion and Reciprocal Protection of Investments (APPRI) during the 2026 United Nations General Assembly in New York.
El Salvador’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alexandra Hill Tinoco, signed the agreement alongside Argentina’s Foreign Minister, Pablo Quirno, establishing a framework focused on promoting and protecting investments between the two countries. The signing took place during the high-level week of the UN General Assembly’s 81st session, whose general debate began on September 22, 2026.
Hill Tinoco described the agreement as part of the continued strengthening of bilateral relations, emphasizing the shared vision of both governments and its potential to generate concrete benefits for their populations.
