El Salvador’s Surf City Model Attracts International Interest in Tourism and Investment

El Salvador is showcasing Surf City as a strategic tourism and investment destination, highlighting its potential to contribute to long-term economic growth and territorial development.

As part of the Territories+ Forum, international experts visited El Salvador’s coastal corridor to examine the transformation taking place in the Surf City area and assess the opportunities emerging from its tourism-driven development.

The visit brought together international specialists, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Economy (MINEC), and other government institutions to analyze how coordinated public investment and tourism development are shaping the region.

Surf City has become a key component of El Salvador’s strategy to strengthen its tourism sector, attract investment, and generate new economic opportunities along the country’s coastline. The coastal territory provides an important setting for examining how tourism infrastructure can support broader regional development.

The Territories Forum also provided an opportunity for international experts to study El Salvador’s approach and its projected contribution to economic growth, particularly through the integration of tourism, investment, infrastructure, and territorial planning.

The engagement underscores the growing international interest in El Salvador’s tourism development model, with Surf City emerging as one of the country’s most prominent platforms for investment and sustainable economic expansion.
