COAMSS Drives Construction Supply and Distribution Expansion in San Salvador South

El Salvador is seeing growing private investment in areas of San Salvador South once heavily affected by crime, with improved security helping create conditions for business expansion and economic regeneration.

A new DIDELCO distribution center has been inaugurated in San Marcos, strengthening the supply chain serving the construction sector across the southern districts of San Salvador.

The facility represents a new investment milestone for DIDELCO, a Salvadoran company founded in 1979. The company has recently recorded significant growth in employment, production, warehousing capacity, and its network of sales and distribution points.

According to Luis Rodríguez, the project illustrates how improved security can help transform previously high-risk territories into areas with greater economic potential. The districts that make up San Salvador South were historically among the areas most affected by crime, but are now undergoing a gradual process of integrated regeneration.

Construction has emerged as one of the key pillars of this transformation, creating demand for materials, logistics, infrastructure, and new commercial activity. The expansion of companies such as DIDELCO reflects how improved conditions can support private-sector growth and strengthen local supply chains.

The development underscores El Salvador’s broader effort to connect security with economic opportunity, using safer communities as a foundation for investment, employment, and territorial revitalization.
