A major infrastructure initiative is underway to significantly expand mobile network coverage and accelerate digital transformation. The Ministry of Housing has released $54.6 million in funding dedicated to the development and deployment of telecom tower infrastructure. Set to run from July 2025 to September 2026, this project aims to build a more resilient and efficient communications network to support growing digital demands.
The investment is strategically distributed across three main geographic zones to ensure balanced regional development. The Central region receives the largest share with $35.4 million, followed by the Eastern region with $10.2 million, and the Western region securing $9.0 million. This targeted allocation addresses critical coverage gaps while boosting network capacity in high-density areas.
Highlighting the long-term vision of the project, the Minister of Housing stated via social media that “the investment released for the development of telecom tower infrastructure will strengthen network expansion, improve coverage, and contribute to more efficient and accessible connectivity.” She added that “this is an important step toward continuing to generate the necessary conditions for development, innovation, and digital transformation.”
Beyond strengthening day-to-day communication, modernizing the telecommunications grid is positioned as a foundational pillar for economic competitiveness. Upgrading local infrastructure not only improves mobile access for residents but also creates a more attractive environment for international business, tech innovation, and remote commerce.
