El Salvador Is Using an AI-Powered System for Real-Time Investment and Territorial Analysis

El Salvador is expanding the use of artificial intelligence in economic development with the launch of NIX 2, an AI-powered investment advisory platform designed to help the private sector make more informed decisions.

Luis Rodríguez presented the second phase of NIX during the inauguration of the Territories+ Forum, supported by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) in El Salvador. The presentation included a live demonstration of the technology and its new capabilities.

NIX 2 is designed to provide investors with market analysis, external assets for potential projects, socioeconomic assessments, investment-potential analysis, and pre-feasibility studies. By combining these functions, the platform aims to offer more precise information for evaluating projects and supporting investment decisions.

According to Rodríguez, the technology can strengthen the strategic capabilities of private companies regardless of the type of project they intend to develop, while contributing to infrastructure planning and territorial development.

The initiative forms part of a broader technological transformation promoted under President Nayib Bukele, following the government’s emphasis on security and its expansion into areas such as education and health.

With NIX 2, El Salvador is seeking to apply artificial intelligence beyond public services and into investment, infrastructure, and strategic territorial planning, potentially giving businesses access to faster and more detailed tools for assessing new projects.

The development positions AI as an emerging component of El Salvador’s investment ecosystem, connecting data-driven analysis with private-sector decision-making and long-term territorial development.
