El Salvador Construction Sector Projected to Grow 15%, Adding $500 Million to Activity

El Salvador’s construction sector is projected to expand by 15%, potentially generating an additional $500 million in economic activity compared with the previous period, according to José Velásquez, president of the Salvadoran Chamber of Construction (CASALCO).

The forecast points to continued momentum in one of the country’s key economic sectors, supported by ongoing construction activity and investment.

Velásquez said the expected expansion would represent a significant increase over the previous period, underscoring the sector’s growing contribution to El Salvador’s economy.

A 15% increase would also strengthen activity across industries connected to construction, including materials, engineering, transportation, specialized services, and employment.

The projection adds to a broader trend of increased investment in infrastructure and real estate development in El Salvador, as construction remains an important driver of economic activity.

If the forecast materializes, the additional $500 million would mark a substantial year-on-year increase and further reinforce the construction sector’s role in the country’s economic growth.
