Nayib Bukele Announces 50,000 Scholarships to Expand Education Opportunities for Young Salvadorans

El Salvador is expanding educational opportunities for young people through a new government initiative that will make 50,000 scholarships available for university degrees, technical training, and vocational programs.

President Nayib Bukele announced the program as part of efforts to ensure that young Salvadorans have an opportunity to pursue higher education and professional training, regardless of whether they choose an academic, technical, or vocational pathway.

The initiative will provide access to a wide range of university programs while also supporting young people interested in technical and vocational careers. The goal is to create more pathways for Salvadoran youth to develop their skills, pursue professional goals, and prepare for future employment opportunities.

The scale of youth participation in educational initiatives has also increased significantly. According to the Presidency, a gathering held just over a year ago brought together 10,000 young people and representatives from 10 universities. The latest event has grown to include more than 30,000 young people and 30 universities, highlighting rising interest in higher education.

With the introduction of 50,000 scholarships, El Salvador is expanding opportunities for young people to study, develop professional skills, and build a stronger future through education.
