Tour El Salvador 2026 Showcases Elite Women’s Cycling Across Cities, Coast and Volcanoes.

The Tour El Salvador 2026 continues to highlight the country as a premier stage for elite women’s cycling, combining high-level competition with routes that span urban centers, coastal highways and western volcanic landscapes.

The race opened with Stage 1 in San Salvador, a 69.5-kilometer urban circuit completed over 12 laps. Dutch cyclist Marjolein Vant Geloof, riding for Laboral Kutxa Euskadi, claimed victory after an intense final sprint, clocking 1:54:20. Spain’s Ainara Albert and Russia’s Anastasiya Samsonava, both from Cogeas Roland, completed the podium in a tightly contested finish.

Stage 2 shifted the spotlight to El Salvador’s coastline, covering 91.4 kilometers from Surf City Boulevard in La Libertad to Sonsonate. Ainara Albert demonstrated endurance and tactical intelligence to secure the win with a time of 2:36:39. Colombia’s Jannie Milena Salcedo finished second, followed by Kazakhstan’s Yelizaveta Sklyarova. The demanding stage saw eight riders withdraw from the competition. “I’m very excited to start the Tour El Salvador this way. It was a race where you had to stay very focused, and my team supported me perfectly,” Albert said after the finish. Her victory also placed her at the top of the general classification.

Stage 3 delivered another demanding test, with 89.4 kilometers through Mejicanos, Quezaltepeque, El Congo, Lake Coatepeque and Sacacoyo, finishing on the Claudia Lars Peripheral Road. Chilean cyclist Camila Soto, from Team Laboral Kutxa, emerged victorious after a powerful final sprint, crossing the line in 2:28:13. Uzbek rider Yanina Kuskova took second place, while China’s Qiuying Zhou finished third. Despite winds reaching 20 km/h, the stage maintained a relentless pace, marked by multiple breakaway attempts.

Tomorrow, Stage 4 of the Tour El Salvador will cover 95.9 kilometers, starting and finishing in Santa Ana, with the route passing through Metapán and the Longitudinal del Norte. The final stage reinforces the race’s international stature and highlights El Salvador’s projection on the global stage, reflecting the Salvadoran commitment to sports tourism as a key driver for economic growth and national development.
