Bukele Positions El Salvador as an AI Leader with NVIDIA B300 Acquisition.

El Salvador has entered a new technological era with the arrival of NVIDIA’s B300 chips, considered the most powerful artificial intelligence processors in the world. With this acquisition, the country becomes the first in the region to obtain these cutting-edge systems, marking a decisive step in its national AI strategy. President Nayib Bukele announced on X that he personally inspected the newly delivered units, posting, “I just bought a computer,” alongside photos of the chips and his meeting with Ray Pang, Vice President of Technology and Business Enablement at Supermicro.

Pang praised Bukele’s leadership on X, writing, “Thank you, President Bukele, for your bold vision of sovereign AI for El Salvador and for your trust in Supermicro and our CEO.” Supermicro, a Silicon Valley–founded company recognized for its high-performance servers and AI-optimized infrastructure, delivered the powerful B300 processors—also known as Blackwell Ultra—designed for large-scale generative AI and reasoning tasks. The B300 models are nearly 1.5 times faster than the B200, offer up to 288 GB of HBM3E memory, and provide 50% more bandwidth.

The National Bitcoin Office (ONBTC) highlighted that El Salvador is among the first countries worldwide to receive these “extremely powerful AI supercomputing processors.” The acquisition follows a sovereign quotation process managed by ONBTC in partnership with Aaron Ginn, CEO of Hydra Host. This purchase forms part of the country’s broader plan to implement artificial intelligence across health, education, agriculture, the economy, and environmental management.

The strategy includes building hardware infrastructure, training national talent, developing applied AI models, and establishing a sovereign framework that ensures El Salvador can produce and operate its own technology. Hydra Host also announced that it will open offices in the country, adding El Salvador to its global computing network. Ginn previously stated that “El Salvador will likely be the 51st or 52nd country in our global infrastructure network.”

The arrival of the B300 chips coincides with the launch of DoctorSV, a new digital health system offering video consultations, AI-assisted diagnostics, and integrated medical services. With the support of advanced technology from Supermicro and NVIDIA, El Salvador strengthens its position as a pioneer in emerging technologies, combining renewable energy, next-generation infrastructure, and a state vision firmly focused on building its sovereign AI future.
