President Invites Salvadorans to the Opening of the New San Miguelito Market, Promoting Order, Cleanliness, and Local Commerce

El Salvador continues advancing its strategy to support local commerce and strengthen public spaces with the reopening of the new San Miguelito Market, which officially opens its doors tomorrow at 7:00 a.m. President Nayib Bukele called on Salvadorans to support local vendors and their families while embracing a culture of order, cleanliness, and shared responsibility.

In a public message, President Bukele emphasized that promoting well-organized and hygienic commercial spaces benefits the entire community. “Let’s support the vendors and their families; let’s also do so by promoting order, hygiene, and responsibility. This way, everyone wins: them, their families, their customers, and our country,” he stated.

The President highlighted that disorder and unsanitary conditions contribute to underdevelopment, disease, and insecurity—issues that have historically affected informal and traditional markets in the country. In contrast, organized and clean public spaces encourage economic growth, public health, and security.

The new San Miguelito Market represents another step in the government’s efforts to modernize urban infrastructure and create dignified, safe, and efficient environments for thousands of vendors and consumers. The renewed facility is expected to boost local commerce, improve quality of life for merchants, and offer a more pleasant shopping experience for residents and visitors.

With this initiative, El Salvador continues strengthening its commitment to orderly development and community well-being, reinforcing President Bukele’s vision of transforming public spaces into engines of prosperity and security.
