El Salvador’s Ministry of National Defense inaugurated the Fuerzas Comando 2025 Leaders’ Seminar, under the theme “Special Operations in the Fourth Industrial Revolution: Adaptation and Innovation.” The event was led by Minister of Defense René Francis Merino Monroy alongside Mark A. Schaffer, Commander of U.S. Southern Command Special Operations (SOCSOUTH).
The seminar brought together military representatives from participating nations to exchange experiences, perspectives, and strategic knowledge on modern defense. Discussions focused on strengthening regional capabilities, adapting special operations to new technological challenges, and consolidating international cooperation in matters of security and defense.
According to the Ministry of National Defense, the meeting highlights El Salvador’s role as a regional hub for strategic security dialogue and its commitment to international partnerships in addressing the evolving dynamics of global defense.
