El Salvador Accelerates National School Renovations Under “Dos Escuelas por Día” Initiative

El Salvador continues to expand its ambitious #DosEscuelasXDía (“Two Schools per Day”) program, which is transforming the country’s education infrastructure at an unprecedented pace. Since its launch in May 2025, the initiative has already delivered nearly 200 school interventions nationwide, benefiting tens of thousands of students from preschool to high school.

Backed by strong investment and transparent monitoring, the program focuses on building safe, modern, and inclusive facilities across all 14 departments, aiming to close historical gaps in public education. Each intervention includes classroom modernization, secure spaces, recreational areas, and sustainable systems to support long-term development.

Among the most recent projects is the Jardínes de San Bartolo School Center in Ilopango, East San Salvador, where a $1.1 million investment will benefit 159 preschool and elementary students through extensive interior and exterior renovations. This addition brings the national total to 194 completed interventions under the program.
