El Salvador Opens First CA-4 Heliport, Boosting Regional Connectivity and Tourism.

El Salvador marked a new milestone in regional connectivity this Thursday with the inauguration of Heli Tours El Salvador, the country’s first CA-4 heliport in Latin America. The project, backed by the government of President Nayib Bukele, aims to strengthen tourism, attract investment, and position the nation as a hub of modern infrastructure in Central America.

Jessica Olivares, institutional representative of Heli Tours El Salvador, emphasized the significance of this achievement, stating, “We thank the Government of President Nayib Bukele for his vision to strengthen the infrastructure and connectivity of our country. Today Heli Tours opens its doors to this nation.” She added that the initiative “marks a milestone in private investment, connecting El Salvador with Honduras and Guatemala while offering customs and immigration services.”

Homero Morales, director of Civil Aviation of El Salvador, praised the joint work between the private sector and the government, noting, “We inaugurate the first heliport under the CA-4 framework and celebrate the joint efforts that open new opportunities for connection in the region. Projects like this are vital for the economic boost they generate.” He also highlighted that the government’s vision is to modernize infrastructure and attract investment, consolidating El Salvador as a strategic regional hub.

Tourism Minister Morena Valdez pointed out the impact on the sector, sharing that “up to July we registered 2.3 million visitors, with Guatemalan arrivals increasing by 40%. Many entrepreneurs seeking business opportunities are coming to the country.”

The inauguration of Heli Tours El Salvador represents a step forward in strengthening regional integration and expanding the country’s role in international tourism and business.
