New Labor Opportunities for Salvadorans: Spain Opens Doors for Lifeguard Positions.

The Ministry of Labor in El Salvador has expanded the scope of its Labor Migration Program by adding Spain as a new destination for Salvadoran workers. Rolando Castro, the Minister of Labor, made the announcement, revealing that a group of Salvadorans is preparing to travel abroad, opening up new employment opportunities for the nation’s talent.

“The labor market in Spain has been opened. They are going as lifeguards, a field that has often been overlooked, but these individuals are highly professional,” Castro explained during the announcement of this new group of workers.

Castro further clarified that the Salvadorans would be employed by a hotel chain in Spain. “They will not be working in the ocean or open sea, they will be working in pools, so the conditions will be different, which means they won’t be running any risk,” he added.

José Quezada, one of the beneficiaries of this program, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to work legally in Spain.

“We are just hours away from leaving our country. We are very happy, filled with emotions and expectations, something that is hard to explain, but above all, we are very grateful to God, to President Nayib Bukele, to Minister Castro, and to everyone who made this dream, one we’ve held for so long, a reality,” Quezada shared.

The Salvadoran authorities continue to focus on promoting safe, orderly, and regular migration. With this new expansion of the Labor Migration Program, Salvadorans are set to have greater access to international employment opportunities, enhancing their career prospects and contributing to the country’s economic development.
