KLM Group Explores Aeronautical Investment Opportunities in El Salvador.

The Salvadoran government is actively promoting the country’s aeronautical industry as a key driver for economic growth, foreign investment, and job creation. In this context, a delegation from the Dutch airline company KLM Group has arrived in El Salvador to assess opportunities in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) sector, an area where the country has established a strong international reputation.

The visit was facilitated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through its embassy in the Netherlands, reinforcing El Salvador’s commitment to strengthening ties with global aviation leaders. The KLM delegation aims to evaluate the country’s capabilities in MRO services and the training of specialized human talent in this field.

The Salvadoran government hopes that this visit will open new doors for partnerships between KLM and local businesses, as well as with technical education institutions. To foster collaboration, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has arranged a series of meetings with private sector companies engaged in MRO and related services. Additionally, the delegation is scheduled to tour the Don Bosco University, a leading institution in aviation training.

“KLM is a globally recognized company that has identified the potential of our country in the MRO sector. They are willing to support us in training young professionals and establishing partnerships with industry companies,” stated Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Adriana Mira. She was joined by Federico Anliker, President of the Autonomous Executive Port Commission (CEPA), in discussions with the KLM representatives.

“As a global company, we are always looking for opportunities, and that is precisely why we are here,” said Radj Jagbandhan, KLM’s Global Director of International Line Maintenance. “We want to understand how companies operate, how talent is trained, and what possibilities exist, especially in maintenance services. El Salvador has significant potential, with notable advancements in development and security, making it an attractive destination.”

With this visit, El Salvador continues to position itself as a strategic player in the global aviation industry, paving the way for future collaborations that could further enhance its aeronautical sector.
