Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim, along with business leaders from over 20 Latin American countries, is participating in an entrepreneurial summit in El Salvador aimed at “exchanging experiences between different business generations,” the Salvadoran presidential office reported.

The event, held behind closed doors without press access, marks the 20th edition of the “Parents and Children Business Meeting 2025.” Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele and First Lady Gabriela de Bukele welcomed the entrepreneurs and their families, expressing gratitude for choosing El Salvador as the host country.

“This event is a result of our progress in security, new infrastructure investments, and initiatives to improve the business climate,” President Bukele noted in his remarks.

Carlos Slim, 85, Mexico’s wealthiest individual, praised El Salvador for hosting the gathering and emphasized the importance of fostering collaboration among business leaders across Latin America. “Sharing knowledge and experiences between generations is key to the region’s economic growth and long-term success,” Slim said.

While details regarding the summit’s agenda and duration remain undisclosed, the event highlights El Salvador’s growing role as a hub for business and investment in Latin America.
