El Salvador and Morocco Enhance Cooperation in Tourism, Energy, and Trade.

The Governments of El Salvador and the Kingdom of Morocco held the Second Round of Political Consultations today at the headquarters of El Salvador’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting focused on reviewing the progress of their bilateral relationship and identifying opportunities to expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Both delegations emphasized strengthening cooperation in development, economic exchanges, and addressing current national and regional issues.

“For El Salvador, this meeting is vital as part of our strategy to deepen ties with a key partner like Morocco and, through it, with the African continent,” said Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Adriana Mira. “We aim to enhance our friendship and collaboration, translating these efforts into tangible benefits for our people.”

Fouad Yazourh, Morocco’s Director General of International Political Affairs, praised El Salvador’s recent governmental transformations, particularly in the field of security. “These changes pave the way for El Salvador’s continued development,” Yazourh stated. “We seek to work together so that the interests of both nations are reflected in our mutual agenda.”

As a result of the consultations, both countries committed to coordinating initiatives in tourism, renewable energy, health, education, environment, and culture. They also highlighted significant potential to boost economic exchanges through trade promotion and investment.

Morocco remains one of El Salvador’s primary allies in Africa and was the first African nation to host a Salvadoran embassy, serving as a vital bridge for expanding regional partnerships.

El Salvador’s Ambassador to Morocco, Ignacio de Cossío, also attended the meeting, reinforcing the importance of sustained diplomatic engagement between the two nations.
