A delegation of Turkish entrepreneurs, members of the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK), is visiting El Salvador to explore trade and investment opportunities in the country. DEİK, a private-sector organization dedicated to promoting international business relations, boasts over 5,000 members and 152 business councils worldwide, offering a significant platform to strengthen bilateral exchanges.

“These companies are eager to explore the opportunities El Salvador presents. This visit stems from our efforts in economic diplomacy and the establishment of embassies in both countries,” stated Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Adriana Mira, who welcomed the delegation. The visiting entrepreneurs are scheduled for a series of meetings with both private sector representatives and government officials to forge potential partnerships.
The delegation has met with various Salvadoran institutions, including the Presidential Secretariat for Commerce and Investment, the Ministries of Agriculture and Economy, the Salvadoran Coffee Institute, the General Superintendency of Electricity and Telecommunications (SIGET), and the Investment and Export Promotion Agency (INVEST). An official cooperation agreement was also signed with INVEST to enhance joint efforts.

Private sector engagements involved meetings with the Salvadoran Exporters Corporation (COEXPORT), the Salvadoran Association of Industrialists (ASI), and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of El Salvador (CAMARASAL). These interactions provided the visitors with a comprehensive overview of El Salvador’s economic landscape and potential for expanding trade and investment ties.
“This is DEİK’s first visit to El Salvador. We are impressed by the country’s transformations and are keen to develop bilateral economic relations. We are interested in various sectors and are here to learn about export opportunities and investment prospects that can position El Salvador as a hub for Turkish companies,” said Galip Ilter, head of the delegation. The visiting group includes entrepreneurs from telecommunications, technology, education, food and beverage, logistics, and specialty coffee sectors.
Turkey’s ambassador to El Salvador, Gül Büyükerşen, emphasized the importance of the exploratory mission in strengthening economic relations. “We hope this visit opens doors to new business opportunities. The entrepreneurs are very pleased, and we anticipate more delegations in the future,” she noted.
This visit marks a significant step toward fostering stronger economic ties between Türkiye and El Salvador, with both sides committed to enhancing cooperation and facilitating new avenues for bilateral trade and investment.
