The German-Salvadoran Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK El Salvador) held the forum “German Technologies and Services for Civil Security,” aiming to present business opportunities to Salvadoran entrepreneurs and strengthen bilateral economic relations.
During the event, German business leaders showcased innovative solutions and proposals across various sectors to forge strategic alliances with El Salvador. The forum served as a platform for investors from both countries to explore the benefits of advancing civil security and boosting economic development.
Notable attendees included Karla Klaus, Director of AHK El Salvador; Peter Woeste, Germany’s Ambassador to El Salvador; and Maria Luisa Hayem, El Salvador’s Minister of Economy, representing the Salvadoran government.
Hayem emphasized the positive progress in El Salvador’s relationship with Germany, highlighting that the forum is a direct result of outreach efforts at a 2024 European business event. “Today, companies we invited to visit El Salvador are here, proving that our efforts to promote our country are bearing fruit,” said Hayem.
Among the participants was one of Europe’s largest development banks, further underscoring the forum’s significance in attracting foreign investment. Hayem noted ongoing negotiations with potential investors from Europe and the Americas, including a German auto parts company.
“We are working to attract more investment to finalize more business deals because, ultimately, we aim to create more jobs and improve the quality of life for our people,” Hayem stated. She assured that the Salvadoran government is committed to providing comprehensive support to ensure that visiting companies can successfully establish operations, translating into enhanced employment opportunities nationwide.
