Salvadoran Diplomats Trained to Promote National Coffee Abroad.

More than 120 officials from El Salvador’s diplomatic and consular representations have received specialized training on coffee preparation methods. This initiative aims to equip embassies and consulates worldwide with the skills to effectively promote Salvadoran coffee to international buyers.

The training session was led by Samuel Anaya, head of the Specialized Coffee School at the Salvadoran Coffee Institute. Anaya introduced participants to the “Chemex” method, a pour-over technique that uses a thick filter to produce a high-quality brew.

This capacity-building effort is the result of collaboration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Salvadoran Coffee Institute. It seeks to enhance the global presence of Salvadoran coffee by ensuring diplomats can present and prepare the product professionally.

Participants highlighted that this training will allow them to showcase Salvadoran coffee in an appealing and timely manner, recognizing that international buyers appreciate not only the quality of the beans but also the brewing methods.

Members of the Ministry’s Directorate of Cultural, Gastronomic, and Sports Promotion also took part in the session, reinforcing El Salvador’s commitment to promoting its coffee culture on the global stage.
