A delegation from the Government of El Salvador, led by Karla de Palma, director of the Salvadoran Agency for International Cooperation (ESCO), Oscar Figueroa, interim executive director of SETEFE, and William Deleón, director of the Foreign Ministry’s Cooperation Office, visited Universidad Zamorano in Honduras as part of the Programa Agrobecas.

This initiative, launched last year, awarded scholarships to 22 Salvadoran students to pursue agricultural engineering and specializations. During the visit, the delegation toured the university’s state-of-the-art facilities, including food, dairy, and meat processing labs, a biological control lab, and a solar energy park, showcasing innovations in sustainability and technology.

The delegation also met with the Salvadoran scholarship recipients, who shared their experiences and aspirations, and held discussions with university authorities, including Rector Sergio Rodríguez Royo and Vice President Ana Maier, to explore future collaboration opportunities.

This partnership reflects El Salvador’s commitment to empowering its youth through international education, fostering talent, and advancing the agricultural sector.
