El Salvador’s Technology Exports Reach $25.2 Million in 2024.

El Salvador’s technology exports showed significant growth in 2024, with total sales reaching $25.2 million as of November. This reflects a 7.6% increase compared to the same period in 2023, when exports totaled $23.3 million, according to data from the Central Reserve Bank (BCR).

Key segments driving this growth include components for information processing, which saw sales of $14 million, marking a modest increase of 0.19% from the previous year. Communication equipment experienced a significant boost, with sales reaching $3.7 million, up 60% from 2023’s $2.3 million.

However, not all segments experienced growth. Exports of computers and peripheral equipment saw a 20.8% decline, with total sales of $4.3 million.

Overall, El Salvador’s total exports from January to November 2024 amounted to $5.99 billion, with major sectors including clothing manufacturing ($1.08 billion), food products ($1.06 billion), and the manufacturing industry ($820 million).

These figures highlight the ongoing diversification of El Salvador’s export portfolio, with technology playing an increasingly important role in the country’s economic growth.
