Enerwire, the Salvadoran manufacturer of electrical conductors, has made a historic investment by laying the first stone for a new plant in San Luis Talpa, marking the beginning of a project valued at over $50 million.
The ceremony, attended by Enerwire CEO Rodrigo O´Bynre and key government officials including Minister of Economy María Luisa Hayem and Secretary of Commerce and Investments Miguel Kattán, highlights the company’s commitment to local economic development. O´Bynre announced that the first phase of construction will involve a $6 million investment in state-of-the-art infrastructure and technology, creating new jobs in the process.
“The most important asset of our plant will be Salvadoran talent. We have demonstrated our capability to locally manufacture world-class electrical conductors with advanced technology,” said O´Bynre. He expressed gratitude to government institutions for their support in facilitating this project, which aims to establish El Salvador as a regional leader in electrical conductor manufacturing for Central America, the Caribbean, and the United States.
Secretary Kattán emphasized the importance of initiatives like Enerwire´s in generating quality jobs and fostering growth opportunities in the private sector. “Investing to create quality jobs and equal opportunities will position us where we should have been all along,” he stated.
Minister Hayem also highlighted the positive impact of the investment on local employment and the potential for increased exports of electrical conductors. “This new industrial plant will utilize innovative technology to produce high-quality products for the entire region,” she remarked.
With the total investment exceeding $50 million, Enerwire´s new plant is set to be a significant milestone for El Salvador’s industrial landscape, showcasing the collaborative potential between private companies and government entities in driving economic growth.
