Building a Brighter Future: AES El Salvador to Invest Significantly in Electrical Modernization.

AES El Salvador has announced plans to invest more than $41 million in 2024 to enhance and expand its electrical distribution network. This ambitious initiative aims to modernize the country’s electrical infrastructure, improve service reliability, and accommodate growing demand.

Recently, the company invested over $1 million in an electrical grid interconnection project in San Salvador, which will benefit more than 7,000 customers in the densely populated Colonia Escalón area. This project aligns with AES´s commitment to adopting advanced technologies and innovative solutions to increase energy efficiency and reduce service interruptions.

Daniel Bernárdez, Vice President of Operations for AES El Salvador, emphasized the company’s dedication to continuous improvement: “We are constantly modernizing our electrical distribution networks to enhance the service we provide. This year, we project an investment of over $41 million to improve and expand our distribution network, along with an additional $17 million for digitalization, technology, and automation.”

The recent interconnection project involved the installation and modification of more than 19 kilometers of distribution lines, 210 poles, and upgrades to three substations: “El Volcán,” “San Antonio Abad,” and “Nuevo Cuscatlán.” These enhancements are designed to ensure a more secure and continuous energy supply for the region.

Bernárdez noted the importance of such interconnections in integrating the national electrical system and fostering economic and social development. “AES collaborates closely with other institutions in the electrical sector to strengthen the Salvadoran electrical system and accelerate the future of energy,” he stated.

As AES El Salvador continues to invest in its infrastructure, the company aims to create a more reliable energy landscape that supports the nation’s growth and development.
