New Family Registry Law Set to Modernize National Registry.

In a significant move towards modernizing public administration, the Legislative Assembly has approved the new Family Registry Law, which will overhaul the National Registry of Natural Persons (RNPN). This law promises to enhance the efficiency, accessibility, and speed of vital records processes.

The RNPN has announced that the new regulations will usher in a series of improvements. Key among these are increased efficiency and agility in the registration and certification of birth certificates. The updated system is designed to offer greater security and control over the management, consultation, protection, and preservation of information.

The law will establish a robust and reliable system that ensures precise and current records, thereby safeguarding citizens’ rights and optimizing resource use. Additionally, the modernization will streamline how quickly and easily citizens can access their documents.

Under the new framework, the RNPN will assume the role of Central Registry, overseeing the Family Status Registry System. Municipalities will handle the entry, registration, and certification of family status events, with the RNPN providing essential technical, normative, and methodological support to ensure a smooth transition.

This legislative advancement marks a significant step forward in public administration, promising a more efficient and citizen-friendly approach to vital records management.
