Alberto, 32, from Sassuolo, Italy, and his friend Raffaele, also 32, are the founders of Postrescita, a brand new dessert café in El Salvador. Drawn to the Central American country after it adopted Bitcoin as legal tender, the pair arrived two and a half years ago, curious to explore the opportunities that this bold economic move might bring.
After several visits, they decided to make El Salvador their home. The country’s enhanced security, pleasant climate, and growing business opportunities inspired them to combine their skills and passion for cooking to open an Italian dessert café in the heart of El Salvador.
Their café, Postrescita, has also become a source of income for four Salvadoran employees. Alberto and Raffaele describe the process of applying for residency in November 2022 as smooth and efficient, thanks to the organized work of the country’s immigration and foreign affairs offices.
Located on the second floor of Plaza Soho in the Las Cascadas shopping center in Antiguo Cuscatlán, Postrescita is already making its mark in El Salvador’s growing food scene.
