The Ministry of Education (Mined) has launched an ambitious educational initiative, the Node Nation Genesis Block, at the Francisco Martínez Suárez National Institute in Chalatenango. This specialized course in Bitcoin is set to provide over 600 students with a deep understanding of cryptocurrency and its applications, equipping them with skills vital for the digital economy.
Mined announced, “Through this initiative, young people will not only learn the fundamentals of Bitcoin but will also receive comprehensive training to become contributors to the digital economy.” The course aims to foster a new generation of digitally-savvy individuals ready to engage with the evolving financial landscape.
In addition to Bitcoin education, students at the San Miguel Tepezontes National Institute in La Paz are benefiting from a robust curriculum focused on robotics, 3D printing, and other emerging technologies. This program, tailored for high school students in software development, emphasizes practical skills and hands-on experience with cutting-edge tools.
Mined emphasized its commitment to future-proofing education: “We are taking firm steps towards the future by training tomorrow’s technological leaders. We are empowering their talent to excel in the digital age.”
According to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), developing digital skills is crucial for children and adolescents to thrive in everyday life, pursue meaningful employment, or start their own ventures, and to actively contribute to their communities.
