El Salvador and Italy Join Forces to Support Vulnerable Communities.

To bolster support for Salvadoran communities, both in Italy and El Salvador, the Vice Minister of Diaspora and Human Mobility, Cindy Mariella Portal, signed a cooperation agreement with María Sara Feliciangeli, representative of the Italian organization Angeli in Moto. This partnership aims to assist the most vulnerable populations and strengthen the ties with the Salvadoran diaspora in Italy.

“Our Salvadoran diaspora in Italy has proven to be a resilient and supportive community. Collaborations with organizations like Angeli in Moto are crucial to continue strengthening these bonds,” stated Vice Minister Portal during the signing ceremony.

Vice Minister Portal highlighted the commendable work of Angeli in Moto, founded by Dr. María Sara Feliciangeli, a member of the Salvadoran diaspora. The organization has been instrumental in providing assistance to vulnerable individuals in Italy.

“Today, we formalize a commitment that will not only benefit our compatriots in Italy but also have a positive impact on communities in El Salvador,” she said.

She emphasized that this agreement would not only reinforce the ties between the two nations but also create new social, legal, medical, educational, and employment opportunities for the Salvadoran diaspora.

The Vice Minister also noted the future collaboration on co-development projects in El Salvador. “Angeli in Moto’s desire to contribute to the well-being of Salvadoran communities, both in Italy and El Salvador, is inspiring and exemplary,” she added.

Furthermore, the agreement reflects a joint commitment to improving the quality of life for Salvadorans in both countries. It aims to enhance inclusion and connection initiatives, promoting the comprehensive development of the diaspora and their communities of origin.

The signing ceremony was attended by Efrén Bernal, Ambassador of El Salvador to Italy, representatives of Angeli in Moto, embassy officials, and special guests.

This cooperation agreement marks a significant milestone in the continued efforts to support and uplift the Salvadoran community abroad and at home.
