The Embassy of El Salvador in the United Kingdom celebrated an evening of cinema and culture last weekend with the screening of the film “El Suspiro del Silencio,” directed by the talented Salvadoran filmmaker Alfonso Quijada. The event took place at The Garden Cinema and was attended by members of the Salvadoran diaspora and British film enthusiasts.
The evening not only showcased Salvadoran cinema but also allowed attendees to enjoy the rich traditional cuisine of El Salvador. This was made possible thanks to the support of Basket Imports and Cuzcatlán by Adelina Bonilla, who provided a variety of traditional dishes that delighted everyone present.
The event was made even more special with the participation of Salvadoran artist Rafael Sánchez. Sánchez captivated the audience with performances of his songs, celebrating Salvadoran culture and geography through his music.
The screening of “El Suspiro del Silencio” and the complementary activities proved to be a success, promoting Salvadoran culture and strengthening the bonds between the Salvadoran community in the UK and lovers of cinema and culture in general.
