The Government’s Innovation Secretariat recently spearheaded an event aimed at fostering software development within the country. The gathering, held in collaboration with Philip Morris International, brought together professionals from academia, the private sector, and various public institutions.
The event, a forum on innovation and technology in the software development industry, provided attendees with insights from both national and international experts in the field. These experts shared best practices and their experiences, offering valuable perspectives on software development.
Daniel Méndez, the Secretary of Innovation, emphasized the importance of such activities in addressing market needs in this new era and enhancing the productive capacities of professionals within the country.
«The Government recognizes that the phenomenon of constant transformation requires ongoing initiatives. Therefore, developing the talent of our youth is crucial to advancing the country’s digital transformation process,» stated Méndez.
Highlighted among the presentations were those delivered by the Salvadoran Chamber of Information Technology and Communication (Casatic) and Microsoft. They focused on the skills demanded by innovative companies, addressing the very needs expressed by the attendees.
«This is the second technological gathering organized by the Government this year,» remarked the Secretary.
He referenced a previous event held in March, in collaboration with technology information company Cisco, where the second Meeting on Cybersecurity 2024 took place. During this gathering, the implementation results of security capabilities were presented, alongside insights into the latest trends for safeguarding digital infrastructures.
Representatives from various Government technology teams participated, benefiting from new tools aimed at strengthening their data protection skills.
Through such initiatives, the Government demonstrates its commitment to nurturing a skilled workforce capable of driving the country’s digital evolution forward.
