CUBO+ Program Opens Applications for 2024 Course, Offering Bitcoin Education for Salvadorans.

The CUBO+ program, spearheaded by the Bitcoin Office of the Presidency, is providing Salvadorans with an opportunity to delve into the economic principles of Bitcoin and Bitcoin Lightning Network programming. Applications for the 2024 course are now open, with the deadline set for Sunday, March 24.

CUBO+, an educational initiative by the Bitcoin Office (ONBTC) aimed at equipping Salvadorans with programming skills on the Bitcoin network, including on-chain and Lightning Network, has commenced its application process for the 2024 course.

Interested individuals, whether university students, graduates from technical or non-technical fields, or anyone seeking a deeper understanding of digital currency, have until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, to submit their details through the website https://cuboplus.academy/pages/cubo2024.

According to ONBTC, the program will span three months and feature a blend of virtual and in-person classes, along with industry event attendance.

Reported by «Diario El Salvador,» the program in 2023 benefited over 54 individuals, including university students and professionals, who gained insights into the foundational economic principles underlying Bitcoin. Subsequently, after a rigorous selection process, 20 young individuals were trained in advanced programming for the network.

In a camp-like format, participants, primarily from universities across the country, resided in hotels in the capital and El Zonte, La Libertad, armed only with their laptops to receive training from some of the world’s foremost Bitcoin experts.

Most instructors leading the course are affiliated with companies operating in the technical realm of digital assets, providing services to both businesses and individuals. Notably, figures like Peter Todd, contributors to Bitcoin’s codebase, were among the instructors.

Upon completion, standout students secured internships with leading Bitcoin companies, while some were eventually hired with competitive salaries. Additionally, others received scholarships to travel to Lugano, Switzerland, and Italy for further training in more technical aspects of the ecosystem.
