To foster technological advancements in El Salvador, the Chinese multinational giant, Huawei, inked a memorandum of understanding with the Secretariat of Innovation of the Presidency. The collaboration, formalized through the signing ceremony held yesterday, aims to bolster cooperation across diverse domains.
The memorandum was signed by Daniel Méndez, Secretary of Innovation, and James Huang, CEO of Huawei El Salvador. Speaking about the partnership, Méndez highlighted its pivotal role in providing enhanced access to continuous and specialized training in the field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for the country.
«This memorandum of understanding brings forth extensive collaboration, particularly in the realm of training for Salvadorans. We believe that building digital capacities and skills for employment is a strategic imperative, considering El Salvador’s emergence as a technological hub in the region, necessitating the development of requisite capabilities,» emphasized Méndez.
Fabiola León, Public Relations Manager of Huawei El Salvador, elaborated on the multifaceted support outlined in the agreement. In addition to facilitating training initiatives, Huawei is set to donate interactive screens known as IdeaHub for utilization in national projects.

The memorandum encompasses various aspects, with a particular focus on education—extensive cooperation on their virtual campus, including courses and training for students. Furthermore, we are making a donation of IdeaHub screens to the Secretariat of Innovation.»
