El Salvador continues to attract investments, and Grupo Ternova has announced a significant investment of $100 million in the construction of a logistics park. The project, named Nneo Smart Properties, aims to become the largest merchandise storage and distribution center in the country, featuring high efficiency and ample space for cargo transportation. Construction is scheduled to begin in August of this year.
Nejapa, located north of San Salvador, will be the site for this ambitious project, which will consist of a complex of four logistics warehouses ranging from 17,709.00 square meters to 34,691.00 square meters. The logistics park will also feature wide roads for light vehicles and trucks with containers.
Rodrigo Tona, CEO of Grupo Ternova, explained that Nejapa stands out for its excellent connectivity to the east and west of the country, and they are leveraging this advantage to launch an innovative project built to international efficiency standards. Tona further emphasized that during the construction phase, Nneo Smart Properties will generate 800 direct jobs, with an additional 400 job opportunities once operations commence.
The project is a collaboration between national and foreign capital, as Grupo Ternova has formed a partnership with Latam Logistic Properties (LLP), a renowned developer of modern and sustainable logistics real estate with extensive international experience. This marks LLP’s first foray into El Salvador.
The unveiling of this mega-project took place during a meeting with Salvador Gómez Góchez, the head of El Salvador’s Investment and Export Promotion Agency (Invest). Specialists from the agency’s Export Directorate were also present, gaining insight into the details of the project, which aspires to become the logistics hub for the Northern Central American countries.
Gómez Góchez highlighted that this project will set the country apart by offering state-of-the-art infrastructure, increasing companies’ organizational capabilities and ensuring more efficient and controlled distribution within their supply chains. He confidently stated that El Salvador will become a highly competitive country in the field of logistics.
“We have learned about the mega-project of Grupo Ternova’s new business unit, and as a government entity, we will accompany them throughout the entire development process, following the instructions of President Nayib Bukele to support any national or foreign investment that contributes to the development and job creation in our country,” affirmed Gómez Góchez.
Furthermore, he added that this logistics park will be located in a strategically connected area with access to roads that facilitate product transportation to the airport and ports of the country.
Grupo Ternova has a long history of supporting El Salvador’s economy, with 53 years of experience. The company currently operates five production plants and nine commercial offices across Central America, the Caribbean, and North America.
With the investment in Nneo Smart Properties, Grupo Ternova demonstrates its commitment to the country’s economic growth and development while creating significant employment opportunities. The project’s construction and subsequent operation will undoubtedly contribute to positioning El Salvador as a key player in the logistics sector of the region.
