OEI to Support Digital Gap Reduction.

El Salvador signed a cooperation agreement for eight municipalities.

On Wednesday, the Vice President of El Salvador, Félix Ulloa, signed a cooperation agreement with the Secretary General of the Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture (OEI), Mariano Jabonero.

The aim of this agreement is to address the eight municipalities of El Salvador that make up the Trifinio region and work towards reducing the digital gap in that area.

Ulloa highlighted to Jabonero that with the cooperation provided by OEI, the educational efforts of President Nayib Bukele’s government will be strengthened through the distribution of computers and electronic tablets to students and teachers on a national scale.

«With this project, we will try to compensate for the effects that unfortunately the pandemic has left, which includes educational, economic and social inequalities,» said Secretary Jabonero, who ensured that the Trifinio Plan initiative generates a positive impact in a wide region.
