Government begins delivery of Roque Dalton Presidential Scholarships to Salvadoran youth.

President Nayib Bukele announced the start of the delivery of the Roque Dalton Presidential Scholarships, aimed at supporting the careers and dreams of many Salvadoran young people.

“We have started delivering the Roque Dalton Presidential Scholarships. Soon, thousands of Salvadoran youth will have EVERYTHING they need to fulfill their dreams,” expressed the president through his official Twitter account.

The scholarship covers tuition, monthly fees, and educational expenses, as well as providing students with a computer and free internet access. In addition, gift cards for monthly supermarket expenses will be given to scholarship recipients. The students will also be provided with accommodation, a bed, kitchen area, laundry facilities, and “all basic services paid for.”

The scholarship program is named after Roque Dalton, a Salvadoran poet and revolutionary who fought for social justice and equality. The program aims to honor his legacy by supporting young people in their pursuit of education and career opportunities.

In a video posted by President Bukele, the scholarship recipients can be seen alongside their families, overwhelmed with emotion upon receiving the support of the Salvadoran government to help them fulfill their dreams.

“Today, we reward your effort and your desire to keep learning with the Roque Dalton Presidential Scholarships,” reads part of the letter that is given to the recipients.

The Roque Dalton Presidential Scholarships are an investment in the future of El Salvador, providing young people with the tools and resources they need to succeed in their chosen fields and contribute to the development of their country.
