El Salvador will Renovate 1,000 School Centers as Part of the Mi Nueva Escuela Educational Reform.

El Salvador’s President, Nayib Bukele, announced yesterday that 1,000 educational centers will be renovated by 2023.These actions are part of the My New School educational reform, in which 5,150 public schools will undergo renovations and remodeling.

“We have already started to remodel the schools; there are more than 5,000. But we have already started, and God first this year we are going to finish the first 1,000,” the president reported yesterday, during the inauguration event of the CUBO in Santa Lucía, Mejicanos.

Similarly, he emphasized that in his administration they execute a solid investment for children and youth, which is focused on guaranteeing their rights to education, health, recreation, and protection, among others.

In education, the government of Nayib Bukele has achieved the highest investment in recent decades, exceeding 5.1% of GDP in 2022. This investment has made it possible to establish major transformations in the system, such as connectivity, the delivery of technological equipment to students and teachers, the distribution of educational books, school packages, teacher training, and school meals, among others.

«In the Government we invest in all ages, but especially in youth and children. In fact, all children and young people who go to a public school in the country have the right to a computer and young children a tablet. All the equipment [are] new, of high quality and with internet”, explained President Bukele.
