El Salvador is seeking to expand its international technology partnerships and attract new investment opportunities in Norway through a business dialogue focused on artificial intelligence, innovation, and commercial collaboration.
The country’s Embassy in Norway recently hosted its first investment and technology innovation event, titled “From Pilot to Deployment: A Norway–El Salvador Tech Dialogue,” in partnership with the Oslo Chamber of Commerce (OCC) and Norwegian technology company Antire AS.
Lídice Nahomi González, executive director of El Salvador’s National Artificial Intelligence Agency (ANIA), presented the country’s national AI strategy, regulatory framework, investment incentives, and technological infrastructure. She also highlighted implementation initiatives in key sectors, including education, healthcare, and public services.
The event brought together representatives from Norway’s technology and business sectors, including artificial intelligence, software development, energy, maritime transport, digital transformation, international services, strategic consulting, financing, and institutional cooperation. Discussions explored investment opportunities and potential partnerships between Norwegian companies and El Salvador’s growing technology ecosystem.
Under the theme “Small States, Big Systems,” participants examined how smaller economies can leverage innovation, institutional agility, and international partnerships to deploy technological solutions and create new business opportunities.
Kåre Søyland, CEO of Antire AS, addressed the challenges companies face when moving artificial intelligence projects from pilot stages to commercial deployment. His presentation also explored how El Salvador could serve as a platform for developing, implementing, and scaling technology solutions, while combining Norwegian expertise with the country’s emerging digital capabilities.
The initiative reflects El Salvador’s efforts to strengthen its international investment outreach and position itself as a potential partner for technology companies seeking opportunities in artificial intelligence and digital innovation.
