Culinary Excellence in El Salvador: Fine Dining Week Unveils Country’s Rising Tourism Potential.

El Salvador is cementing its status as a premier international travel destination by hosting the first international edition of Fine Dining Week from October 12 to 17. Building on the momentum of successful tourism initiatives like Surf Cityand the urban revitalization of the Historic Center of San Salvador, the country is attracting global spotlight. The weeklong event brings together a delegation of more than 100 international chefs, critics, and media representativesfrom countries across the Americas and Europe, driving direct economic impact and elevating local talent onto the global stage.

Abandoning traditional open-fair setups, the event features an exclusive circuit of 25 collaborative dinners across 10 renowned host venues, including Xolo, Monarca, and Casa Fuego. Visiting culinary leaders are fusing their signature techniques with native Salvadoran ingredients, ranging from coastal fresh seafood to mountain-grown loroco. “El Salvador is experiencing a unique moment; gastronomy is growing, and Salvadoran products are gaining recognition,”noted Alexander de Mondey, co-founder of Fine Dining Table, emphasizing how the country’s improved safety and modern infrastructure have positioned it as a vibrant hub for world-class experiences.

The culinary summit will reach its peak on Saturday, October 17, with an international gala at the iconic National Palace in downtown San Salvador. The historic landmark will host the official announcement of Los Fuegos 2026, a newly established distinction system created by Fine Dining Table. Following months of anonymous evaluations across El Salvador and 21 international markets, the awards recognize culinary excellence, sustainability through the Fuego Verdedistinction, and top-tier hospitality via the Best Wellness Hotels category.

By pairing world-class gastronomy with historic heritage and coastal allure, El Salvador continues to broaden its appeal for international travelers seeking authentic, high-end cultural experiences. As Jose de la Barra, CEO of Fine Dining Table, highlighted, the initiative is designed to generate a lasting economic impact while showcasing El Salvador’s vibrant culture to global audiences through international media coverage.
