El Salvador Launches Nationwide Sizing Drive to Prepare 2027 School Packages for 1.2 Million Students.

In an unprecedented move to ensure seamless delivery of educational materials, the Salvadoran government has launched a nationwide sizing initiative for the 2027 academic year. Led by President Nayib Bukele’s administration, the campaign mobilizes over 500 volunteers across public schools to measure uniform and shoe sizes for 1.2 million students, guaranteeing a custom fit for every child before classes begin.

Education Minister Karla Trigueros personally supervised the sizing process at the Centro Escolar República de Panamá in San Salvador Centro, highlighting the government’s commitment to early preparation and logistics. “President Nayib Bukele ordered us to start measuring our students’ uniforms and shoes this far in advance so we can deliver a complete, timely, and improved school package,” Trigueros explained, emphasizing that parents participate by bringing sample clothing to match precise sizing templates.

The upcoming 2027 school packages expand beyond traditional tailored uniforms and shoes to include books, notebooks, essential school supplies, and upgraded electronic devices tailored to modern learning needs. By addressing sizing and logistics years in advance, the Ministry of Education aims to eliminate distribution delays and fit discrepancies that frequently affect large-scale public education welfare programs.

Beyond practical supply logistics, official sources frame the initiative as a long-term investment in the country’s youth. Officials emphasize that equipping students with proper tools fosters enthusiasm and a stronger sense of dignity within the classroom, serving as a foundational pillar for El Salvador’s broader educational and economic development goals.
