San Salvador’s Historic Center became a meeting point for families, friends, and cycling enthusiasts on September 20 as the Ministry of Public Works and Transport held the ninth edition of PedaleadaSV, promoting alternative mobility and healthy outdoor recreation.
The event, based at Plaza Gerardo Barrios, invited participants to experience the capital through bicycles, scooters, skateboards, skates, and other forms of active transportation. The official event included 5- and 10-kilometer routes, creating an accessible recreational activity for people of different ages and abilities.
A special highlight of the PedaleadaSV in San Salvador was the presence of former FC Barcelona and Brazil football star Dani Alves, who joined the activities in the Historic Center alongside Mr. Drip. Alves’ visit formed part of his first trip to El Salvador and added an international dimension to the city’s cycling event.
Beyond sport and recreation, the ninth PedaleadaSV reflects ongoing efforts to encourage sustainable mobility in El Salvador, while giving residents an opportunity to rediscover the Historic Center through a family-oriented urban experience.
With cycling, recreation, and public spaces at the center of the initiative, PedaleadaSV 2026 continues to position San Salvador’s Historic Center as a setting for community activities and alternative transportation.
