El Salvador’s UJMD Presents “Talent With Purpose” Vision to Drive Digital Transformation in Higher Education

El Salvador’s Dr. José Matías Delgado University (UJMD) is advancing its institutional transformation with the launch of a new vision centered on “Talent With Purpose,” strengthening its focus on education, innovation, and the evolving demands of today’s economy.

The initiative was presented in San Salvador during an event attended by representatives from the business sector, diplomatic corps, and university community, highlighting the importance of collaboration between academia and other key sectors of Salvadoran society.

Tourism Minister Morena Valdez participated in the event and emphasized the role of universities in preparing professionals for a rapidly changing environment. She described the initiative as a collaborative effort between the academic sector and the Ministry of Tourism, particularly to update educational programs and align curricula with emerging industry needs.

The new institutional vision forms part of UJMD’s broader digital transformation process, aimed at adapting its academic and organizational systems to technological advances and changing professional demands.

For El Salvador, stronger links between higher education, government, and the private sector can help develop a workforce equipped with the skills needed to support innovation, tourism, technology, and other strategic areas of the economy.

The “Talent With Purpose” initiative underscores UJMD’s commitment to developing professionals capable of responding to new challenges while connecting academic talent with the country’s evolving development priorities.
