El Salvador continues to strengthen its global presence by showcasing its cultural heritage, natural landscapes, and recent national transformations to international audiences. As part of the Latin American and Caribbean Festival held at Moscow’s iconic Hermitage Garden, the Embassy of El Salvador hosted an immersive presentation titled “Knowing About El Salvador.” Presented directly in Russian by Ambassador Yuri Santacruz, the session attracted 64 attendeesinterested in discovering Central America’s smallest yet dynamically growing country.

The presentation provided a comprehensive overview of the nation’s identity, tracing its history from indigenous roots and archaeological heritage to national symbols and recent achievements in public safety, infrastructure, and tourism development. Highlighted destinations included the revitalized Historic Center of San Salvador, the world-renowned Surf City, majestic volcanoes, pristine lakes, and protected natural reserves. Cultural traditions such as the Cofradía de las Flores y las Palmas in Panchimalco and the heritage of Suchitoto were also presented alongside the rich history of Salvadoran coffee and national gastronomy.

Beyond the presentation, attendees actively engaged with questions regarding the country’s transformation. Key topics of interest included security developments, culinary customs, and commercial ties such as Salvadoran exports to Russia and direct air connectivity. Participants also inquired about the local Salvadoran resident community and opportunities for Spanish language scholarships in El Salvador, while receiving official tourism brochures and postcards.
Addressing the audience’s enthusiasm throughout the session, Ambassador Santacruz emphasized the nation’s open door to international travelers, noting that “El Salvador is currently undergoing an unprecedented evolution that combines preserved cultural heritage with world-class, safe destinations for modern travelers.” The positive reception marks another successful diplomatic effort to position the nation as an attractive destination for global tourism and cultural exchange.
