El Salvador Strengthens Technology and AI Cooperation With Indonesia as It Expands Presence in Asia

El Salvador continues to strengthen its international partnerships in technology and innovation, advancing efforts to deepen cooperation with key Asian economies as part of its broader digital transformation strategy.

The Salvadoran Embassy in Singapore, which also represents Indonesia, recently held a working meeting with Indonesia’s Coordinating Ministry of Economic Affairs, the institution responsible for overseeing the country’s economic and digital development policies. The discussions focused on opportunities for collaboration in areas such as artificial intelligence, digital governance, cybersecurity, financial innovation, and data protection.

The engagement follows contacts established during ATxEnterprise 2026 in Singapore, one of Asia’s leading technology forums, where government officials, industry leaders, investors, and experts explored emerging trends shaping the future of the digital economy.

During the meeting, representatives from both countries exchanged experiences on technological modernization and identified potential avenues for future technical cooperation. Salvadoran Ambassador Jaime López Badía emphasized that international partnerships play an important role in strengthening institutional capacities and fostering innovative initiatives that contribute to economic development.

The dialogue also highlighted growing interest in El Salvador’s progress in digital transformation and its evolving regulatory framework for artificial intelligence. Indonesian officials expressed interest in learning more about the country’s experience in promoting innovation-driven growth and building policies that support the digital economy.

As El Salvador expands its presence across Asia, the country continues to position itself as an active participant in global conversations on technology, innovation, and the knowledge economy, while seeking new opportunities for cooperation with strategic partners throughout the region.
